Here Is Another Story...

I have removed the names of the social workers in this account that was sent to me. I believe the account. It was unsigned but very consistent with other stories. As always, I am happy to hear from CPS about this case that I am sure they will recognize. I am a little perplexed about the interaction when the girl was 17. How can the state keep her when the Becka Law won't even let the parents keep her...she can run away when ever she wants...

CPS needs to be shut down for the pain the they have caused families. The Tacoma office should be the first to go. They have put me and my wife through a lot of emotional pain and financial hardship.
My 17 year old stepdaughter made false allegation while in rehab for drug abuse. She was very mad at me for sending her to rehab, for the second time, and told me she was going to do this. When she returned from rehab X. X., the investigator for CPS arrived and took our child from us. She had brought the police with her and they threatened to arrest my wife if she did not allow our daughter to go with X. They violated our 4th amendment rights and they did all of this without a warrant. We went to the CPS office for a interview with X. and she denied us the interview because we had brought our attorney with us and she said we we not allowed to have a attorney present. My attorney told her that he was going to be present. X. became very angry because of this and ask my attorney in a loud voice how could he defend a child molester. She said this in the lobby of CPS with 10-15 people hearing her accuse me this. My attorney became very angry and we left the building.
While in foster care my daughter wrote a blog on her myspace page admitting that she lied and made false allegation of abuse and she recanted her story several times. Her drug addition took hold and she began to use drug heavily, ran away several times, and fought with the workers. The case worker for CPS, Y. Y., along with Jon M., the CPS AG, went forward to falsify documents, block our witnesses from testifying, and did not even let their own therapist testify on the stand because she expressed concerns that our daughter was lying. They allowed our daughter to testify even though she admitted she was high that day. CPS told her exactly what to say with promises of money, housing, collage and told her that if she did not testify that they would put her in jail for being a run away. Of course they won the dependency and during one of the review hearings Judge Beverly Grant told my wife that she was a terrible mother and she should of left me whether the allegations were true or not. Judge Grant also said that our daughter was very pretty and she could see why I would desire her. Judge Grant called me to the court room to answer to her and she ordered me to go to a sexual therapist. My attorney told her she can not make me do this as she has no right over me in juvenile court.
Well, my daughter turned 18 and moved back home that same day. The damage has been done and our daughter is not doing good. We just hope and pray that somehow, someway that CPS and all the people involved will be accountable for the hurt and pain that they have caused this family.

Once You Give Up Your Child...

I know that there are some children who are better off outside of their birth homes. All of us know that. But, we also know that government can sometimes talk a mother out of her kids...even convince her that there is no other option...Or, that it is her only chance of ever seeing the child again because they will MAKE that happen if the mother does not cooperate. I don't know the mother in the following missive. But many know how she feels:
I gave my children to the state willingly to in return receive a 15 minute "visit" behind a two way mirror. Basically I got to LOOK at them.
For almost 3 years I missed them. Until desperation set it.

The only other place I have witnessed such desperation..was at my best friends funeral when I was 10 years old. He was 9. At the grave site his mother sobbed and attempted to jump into the grave as they lowered him into the ground. She was screaming "I just want to see him one more time, I will do anything!!!". This was unfortunately the exact same emotion I felt, and lived.

But instead of one. It was all of my children. I let them go away forever. Never to be seen again. (sound similar to death?)
Just to see them all- one more time.

Now this is what the state has done to me. I lost my soul, my mind, my will to live and love. I don't know who I am anymore after the horror I have been through.

I stood just inches from my children...they were just out of my reach. They didn't even know I was there. That was it. That was goodbye.

I hope you post this Pam. Let the world know what they have done to me. Please.

Pam Roach Report Gives Eyewitness Account Of French Strike

The BBC report that follows is very accurate. But, first, here is an on the ground report:

Dover, England, earlier today
Pam Roach Report

Our two cars were in line waiting for the 12:25 PM ferry to depart Dover, England and traverse the Dover Channel to Calais, France. We were hoping for a no hitch crossing as 2 year-old Jack can sometimes be frustrated with delays. After an hour and the ferry was not boarding we noticed that people in suits and safety jackets were making their way down the lines giving out tickets. (Here PPR records the first "GOOD" tickets to be given by transportation authorities in the history of mankind!)

Just yesterday the P&O Ferries had transported over 25,000 people in over 5,000 cars, over 8,000 lorries (trucks) and 133 coaches. That is what the electronic reader board was telling us. At this moment it all stopped.

We were not too disappointed as the tickets were passes to use the Eurochannel, the underground tunnel between England and France. We opted for the less expensive ferry and now we were getting an experience of a lifetime for the cost of the ferry ride.

We drove seven miles to the chunnel and boarded a train. The cars drove in from the side of a cattle car door. There were two decks and barely enough room to open a door if you had needed to do so. Riding in our vehicles we moved slowly at first. It was a gradual descent. And then we sped at 130 KPH to France. It took 30 minutes or one third the time as the ferry.

Driving the highway on our way back to our USAF base in Germany, the northbound lane was all but stopped as three police escorted units of farm tractors worked their way toward the port. The back up was 16 miles. It was good to be heading south and little Jack slept through it all!

The chunnel is all about commerce which has now been ground to a halt. The harbor has been blocked on the sea side and the tractors by now have long closed entry to the docks. For the most part this trip has been sans politics. Pam

Striking staff block French port
BBC Dover
Services between Dover and Calais have been suspended

Thousands of ferry passengers have been stranded at the Kent port of Dover after striking French SeaFrance workers blockaded the port of Calais.

All Cross-Channel ferry services between the two ports were suspended on Friday following a 24-hour walkout by the CFDT union over proposed job cuts.

SeaFrance staff have been stopping ships entering or leaving the port.

P&O Ferries also suspended crossings after three of its ships from Dover were stopped from docking at Calais.

Operation Stack, where lorries waiting to cross the Channel park up between junctions 8 and 9 of the M20, was implemented by Kent Police on Friday, and is expected to remain in force until Saturday.

Lilly Update..Comments From Her Mother...My Thoughts? CPS Needs To Admit It Was Wrong And Give Lilly Back

Dear Readers,
Many of you are new so I will recap in brief form. Lilly (3) was taken from maternal grandparents who raised her from birth. CPS lied to get her. They told the birth mother that Lilly would be adopted by her parents if she terminated her rights. She terminated and then went on to be very successful in rehab. So successful that a CPS high-mucky-muck suggested to me that she should be the object of a newspaper article. (We didn't fall for that one!) CPS then lied in the grandparent's home study. I complained. After many weeks CPS amended just a couple of the lies...notably one that had said the grandmother was a thief and had stolen a computer from Swedish Hospital. The computer had actually been given to the grandparents by the department because they were foster providers. The study was still so flawed that CPS did another one but not until after the child was first in a foster-adopt home and then shuffled to the paternal great-grandparents who decided they wanted to keep her.
Even though the child was taken through lies...I was told she would never be able to go back to the mother or maternal grandparents. And CPS has managed to cause havoc in the inter-grandparent relationships! Nice going CPS! I wrote about what I was told...that the child would stay with the older, rich, politically connected great-grandparents. I tried to reason with CPS. That was impossible under Randy Hart. He would rather not admit any mistakes. And, then they also make the value judgement that the child is better off being rich with old "parents" than without wealth and with 45 year-old grandparent, parents." The fact of the lies doesn't bother them at all. Here is the comment I just received from the birth mother who was tricked into terminating:

Pam,
I do have to say when my family read this blog it killed us. I WANT DSHS TO KNOW
THAT JUST BECAUSE THEY THINK I AM A WORTHLESS DRUG ADDICT THEY ARE WRONG. I HAVE
NEVER EVER WORKED THIS HARD IN MY WHOLE LIFE TO CLEAR THE WRECKAGE I HAVE
CAUSED. AND MY FAMILY AND I WILL NEVER NEVER EVER GIVE UP ON LILLY AND WE ARE
FIGHTING TO GET HER BACK. They all seem to think I will give up
when I graduate the program I am in. I have been clean for 2 years. If I can do
that I can do anything I put my mind to, so SC DSHS and AG ...I am going to fight for my daughter. You have taken Lilly for no reason. My parents are saints u had no right to take her. OUR FAMILY WILL NEVER STOP.
Thank you for continuing to follow this. I thank God everyday for you.
Lilly's mom

--------------------
Note: I have heard nothing about the employee who lied to get the child into the foster adopt home....DSHS should make good on the promises they make. I realize that a judge can not be bound by what CPS thinks...although for all intents they are... But lying to take a child should be a crime. It should be punishable. Somehow CPS can lie before a judge and get away with it. What will the new director of Children's do?
This case is not finished and hopefully, the new CPS secretary will want justice to prevail even if the admissions are harmful to the department. Forget the backsides and let's get wrongs corrected.

By the way...if people lie in court they are prosecuted for perjury. Maybe the AG and DSHS and The Judges Association might want to investigate this big hole.

CPS Steals Another WA Family Of Kids...Judge Kessler Steps In

IT IS NICE THAT THE TIMES IS REPORTING ON THIS SUBJECT. IT WOULD BE NICER IF THEY WOULD PUT SOME OF THEIR INVESTIGATIVE TALENT INTO THE SUBJECT OF CPS TAKING CHILDREN WITHOUT CAUSE. SEEMS LIKE A BIG STORY TO ME. PR

Seattle Times

SEATTLE
A judge ordered state Child Protective Services to return seven children to their mother in Seattle in a case that had prompted Muslim protests against foster care.

King County Juvenile Court Judge Ronald Kessler said Wednesday the children could return home as long as the woman's husband stayed away. He was arrested for investigation of molesting a girl who visited the home.

The Seattle Times reports Ethiopian refugee Asha Gobana said she would respect the restraining order even against her husband's wishes.

The children, ages 2 to 14, were removed from the home last Thursday. More than 100 members of the East African Muslim community protested Friday outside a DSHS office against placing the children in non-Muslim foster homes....

THE STORY CONTINUES...AND SO DO THE TAKINGS.

An accusation against the father is made and the answer to that is to remove all of the kids. Judge Kessler decided it was better to remove the father. If I know CPS...they will insist that the father stay away even if he is found innocent. I am not even sure charges have been filed against the dad.

In these story lines there seems never to be any concern at all for the emotional well being of the mother or her children. Really...Split the kids up and shove them into foster care for an undetermined period of time? What does the mother do...go crazy while they do this? If the dad committed a crime then he should be charged, tried and convicted. Leave the family intact. Quit ripping families apart. There may have been racism involved in this case. But, all races, all people, should rally in suppoort of families when things like this happen.

And The Nobel Peace Prize Goes To......Obama???

Republican or Democrat...it doesn't matter. You have to ask yourself how President Obama could come away with the Nobel Peace Prize when he hasn't done anything.

Apparently, the committee liked the fact that he talks about peace and finds correlation between that and merrily letting Iran proceed down the path to the A-Bomb.

Maybe the committee likes the fact that Obama has done his best to throw Honduras to the Marxists. And, I guess it is proof you want peace when you won't talk with your generals.

That's it for me and a bunch of other Americans. We no longer give a ---- who gets the Nobel. It doesn't mean a thing except the money that goes to the winner. Maybe if he had said the U.S. athletes would throw all their games we would have gotten the Olympics in Chicago.

Families Are The Foundation Of Humanity

This little grouping of kids is awaiting grandparents. Before Jim and I get there I want to tell John and Claire how grateful I am for their parenting. All my kids are great parents. I could brag a book. But, in contemplation let me mention what it takes to parent well. I hope you will add to the list in the comments.

1. The willingness to teach right from wrong. In the world today that teaching must come from the home. Do not rely on others to teach this. And remember that the best teaching is done by example.

2. Discipline with love. The object of discipline is self-discipline. Remember that you discipline the act. Don't go after the soul of the person. Never name call: "You are so stupid. You are so clumsy. You don't care about your sister (uncaring), etc. Kids will believe those labels. Try instead, "We don't do that! It will break." Catch them doing something good and compliment them. "Thank you for helping Jack. That is such a good example to Miri."

3. Spend time with your children. Read to them when they are young. Listen to them when they are talking to you. Play the games children play.

4. Set goals with your children and help them meet them. Sometimes they won't even know the goals are set. I taught all of my five children to read before they entered kindergarten. They just knew it was time for fun. One summer all the kids entered a project for the county fair. Ribbons are not just for the hair.

5. Tell them you love them. Often.

6. Teach them about their heritage.

7. Teach them cleanliness. Clean the room, brush your teeth kind of stuff, but also clean thoughts, clean deeds, clean motives. We do the right things for the right reasons. Not just to avoid punishment or to meet certain goals...but because it is the right thing to do. Purity. And do better the next day if you aren't there yet.

8. Teach your children thrift. Think poverty. Would you be wasteful if you were poor? No. So let's respect what we have and learn to share with others. Money is not the root of all evil. Timothy is often misquoted. "The LOVE of money that is the root of all evil." So, let them know it is OK to accumulate wealth.

Public Hospital In Renton Gives $1.7 Million To CEO

I have been busy trying to open up government and demand accountability in areas other than CPS. Part of this post is to document my activities. I chaired the citizens committee that stopped Public Hospital District #1 from annexing part of my legislative district in 2006. We made state history with a 94.4% NO vote.

The mayor of Maple Valley, Lauri Idding, filed a public disclosure complaint that revealed the public hospital spent $500,000 of taxpayer money in two campaigns. The hospital made state history with he largest violation for a public jurisdiction.

I had requested that the state auditor do a performance audit on the hospital which he did. The following is some of the press that came out as a result of the study. the CEO had been given $1.7 million in a retirement package but he hasn't retired. One is reminded of Enron. Please cut and paste.

An Anonymous Phone Call From A Cell Phone Was All That Might Have Been Needed.

"Phillip Paul made a run for it while attending the Spokane County fair for a Eastern State Hospital field trip. Within minutes the hospital staff knew that he was missing, and they called the hospital to find out what their next step should be. That was when they were told not to call the police, and the length of time that Paul was missing continued to grow. They called again, and were told a second time that they should not call the police when they posed the question. This delay in the report created a two hour head start for Paul to be on the run." Seattle Examiner

Excuse me...but why would someone have to ask permission?

We should have a public review of this culture. Let's open this up. State employees and their union might want to have a say. They know where the problems exist.

Pattern Of Cover Up Runs Through All DSHS

"Apparently at the time of Phillip Paul's escape, Eastern State Hospital staff were told not to call 911. It seems unbelievable that anyone would make the decision not to notify authorities that a murderer was on the loose, but that is exactly what happened." Seattle Examiner, 10-3-09

Accountability starts at the top. This story is proof to the public that the culture of cover up exists within DSHS. Those of us who have been following the CPS issues know this well.
DSHS Has No Moral Compass

There are two types of lies. One is the lie of commission and the other the lie of omission. Even when human life hangs in the balance....the department has shown time and again that they will protect themselves before they protect the public. There are many motivations: money, egos, evilness, etc...but in the end...they will either lie or omit fact to get what they want and to avoid responsibility. They want to get away with something they know is wrong. And, unless it is something REALLY public...nothing changes. The culture is one of abdicating responsibility. So much so that there is no moral compass. (You can see how they cling to their culture in how long it takes to "reunite" the families...months of painful one hour visits...even when there was no danger to the kids!)

I Have Never Seen The Department Act On Its Own Volition To Correct The Lies....
In the case of Lilly....DSHS takes a child on the basis of an in home study done in preparation for an adoption. Grandparents were adopting the child they had raised. A false study was written. It was so bad that it was first amended...and then redone.

In the meantime, the child was given to a single, 26 year-old foster adopt woman. The little blond girl was then transferred to wealthy paternal great-grandparents with political connections.

I was told that even though the girl was taken from the grandparents based on a lie...she would never be returned. This speaks to evilness. This speaks to a department that knows they cannot admit an error. They cannot and will not hold anyone accountable. They would rather the community suffer than do the right thing.

This is Sunday. Pray for them that do evil.
Tomorrow...fight back!

Baby Snatch Victim Loses Kids To State Custody

There are many terrible cases out there...let's continue to be reminded. Just imagine how this mother must be handling all this. And when she cries and screams at them...the state and the judge will use that as a reason to keep her kids.

ABC Channel 7 News Oct. 4, 2009

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A mother whose newborn was kidnapped by a knife-wielding woman posing as an immigration agent was briefly reunited with her baby Saturday, then saw him and her three other children taken from her and put into state custody. Rob Johnson, a spokesman for the Tennessee Department of Children's Services, said the children were taken from their mother, Maria Gurrolla, "purely for safety reasons," though he would not detail why the state deemed they were in danger.

"Our focus is on the children, and under the current situation right now, we think the safest thing to do is take the children into state custody," he said.

Gurrolla, 30, was stabbed in her home Tuesday, just four days after giving birth to Yair Anthony Carillo, who was snatched by the attacker."

...(The baby was found in good health some 80 miles away. He had been taken by a white woman posing as a state worker. She told her boyfriend the infant was her cousins and she was arranging to adopt him. But let's continue with what happened to the victim (the mother)in this story.... PR)

Earlier Saturday, officials said the newborn would stay with a foster family as authorities arranged for Gurrolla to be reunited with her son.

"This baby is a week old, and this child has spent half his life away from his family. I think it's time we reunite them," said My Harrison, a special agent with the FBI in Tennessee.

A Tenn. CPS spokesperson said arrangements were made for Gurrolla to see her baby Saturday afternoon to hold him, and she brought her three other children - ages 3, 9 and 11 - with her. All four children were then taken into custody. Officials said they could not discuss details for privacy reasons. A judge will review the case next week to determine when the children can go home.

(The FBI found the infant and he should have been immediately returned to the mother. Instead the state of Tenn. takes all four kids! PPR)

Joel Siskovic, an FBI special agent in the Memphis division, said he could not say why the children were put into state custody. "As of now, there's no indication that there's an ongoing threat to the family," he said. (They don't have to have a reason! The most horrifying part is the kidnapping by the state, not the crazy woman!)

Sec. Dreyfus Takes Action To Instill DSHS Responsibility....Accountability

The following is the press release issued by the same people that in the past have spun department failings to avoid accountability and exposure. So, this approach is welcomed. We hope that the Children's Division will be so treated.

RE: The escape of a criminally insane killer...at the fair grounds

DSHS Secretary Dreyfus outlines follow-up at Eastern State Hospital in wake of September 17 escape

SPOKANE, Wash. – DSHS Secretary Susan N. Dreyfus said Friday that she is concerned about lapses in hospital policy detailed in a critical incident review of a forensic patient’s three-day escape from an Eastern State Hospital field trip at the Spokane County Interstate Fair on Sept. 17.

Secretary Dreyfus said the suspension of field trips at the two adult psychiatric hospitals that she ordered during the escape would remain in effect.

She said she is looking further into the failure of the hospital staff to call 9-1-1 and the clinical decision making around this field trip to determine whether discipline may be appropriate.

“Once I have clear answers to those two questions, I will take any appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with the Washington Administrative Code and the Collective Bargaining Agreements between these employees and the state,” she said.

Dreyfus said she is appointing a panel of experts chaired by Dr. Richard Veith, M.D., head of the University of Washington Department of Behavioral Health and Sciences, to look into those overall policies. She said members of the State Psychiatric Hospital Safety Review Panel include clinical, legal and security experts, a consumer advocate, and law enforcement – including Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich.

In addition to examining the Eastern State Hospital critical incident review, the panel will identify policy and procedures related to the incident that may need to be changed at either state hospital to improve community safety. Both Eastern and Western State Hospitals experienced forensic patient escapes during September.

“We want the panel members to verify that our critical incident investigation was thorough and to review policies and procedures related to this incident,” Dreyfus said.

She also would like the panel to submit recommendations on how the state assures patient, staff and community safety while providing appropriate therapeutic interventions and community reintegration support for the growing numbers of forensic mental health patients in the state psychiatric hospitals.

She said she expects the panel’s report and recommendations by December 1.

“Although public safety must be our first concern,” Dreyfus said, “it is important that we not let this unfortunate incident frame how we as a state see people who live with mental illness. Mental illness touches all of us, and people can indeed recover and lead successful lives.”

A copy of the Critical Incident Review released Friday by Secretary Dreyfus is posted on the DSHS Web page at http://www.dshs.wa.gov

State Dept. Briefing On Honduras Yesterday

snip
MR. KELLY: Honduras?

QUESTION: Yeah. Are there any restrictions on official U.S. contact with members of Micheletti’s de facto administration?

MR. KELLY: Well, as you know, we don’t recognize the regime of Roberto Micheletti, and as such, we have only minimal contact with his regime, particularly senior members of his regime. We have imposed some visa sanctions on some members of that regime. But at the same time, of course, we are very eager to find a solution to the ongoing conflict and try and reach a solution that restores the democratically elected president to power.

So we do have contacts with representatives of the regime in order to help advance that goal, and of course, we have an Embassy in Tegucigalpa which is very actively involved in facilitating the OAS mission to try and find the solution.

QUESTION: Thank you.

Obama Had No Business Interjecting The Presidency Into Olympic Site Selection

The rest of the world does not root the United States on to victory. And the Olympic Organizing Committee doesn't like it when the arrogant walk onto the playing field expecting everyone to give them extra points. What was Obama thinking?

The fact of the American President showing up with his billionaire friend to interfere in the process probably lost more points than it gained the City of Chicago. Obama and Oprah made themselves clay pigeons at a trap shoot where everyone shoots 499 of 500! The committee couldn't resist!

The countries of the world root for their own teams in the Olympic Games. And, they root for acceptable underdogs in the placement of the events.

I wonder if Brazil is making money in another way with the help of the president. What did Brazil get for sneaking Mel Zalaya back into Honduras and harboring him in their embassy? They didn't do that for nothing.

The game Obama is playing in Honduras has much higher stakes than his embarrassing attempt to bring the games to his hometown. He should have left the bidding up to the locals...just as he should have left Honduras up to their locals. Shall I say it? OK. I'm sorry. Obama can't metal when he meddles.

Notes on Brazil: I have been to Rio de Janeiro. There are massive areas of slums clinging to the sides of the hills as you drive in from the airport. Maybe that will change for the Olympic views of the city. But, Sugarloaf and the Cristo Redentor are magnificent. And, you can still see the girl on Ipanema Beach! Son, Captain John, served an LDS mission in Brazil. We toured the country after he was released from his duties there. John is fluent in Portuguese which is a beautiful, melodic language. There are more people who speak Portuguese in South America than speak Spanish.

Evergreen Professor Only Permits Marxist Presentation On Honduras

Liberal Evergreen State college professor has invited a female lecturer on Honduras to speak in his class about the crisis. But, he only wants a one sided presented.

Former Federal Way School Board member and successful business woman, Evelyn Castellar, lives in Honduras 6 months out of the year. She and her husband have a huge farm. I have been there many times.

Evelyn called and left a message volunteering to help in the lecture. The professor called her back and left his own message. He told Castellar that she could speak to the class if she was on Mel Zalaya's side. If not...she could ask questions during the Q&A.

Dems Stopped Trip To Honduras By U.S. Senators

(In this fast moving story it has now been learned that Sen. Kerry cooled off and is now permitting the travel. This is so important the senators, who make about $140,000 a year, could have paid the $750 plane fare!)

October 1, 2009 - WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina), member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and chairman of the Senate Steering Committee, made the following statement after Foreign Relations Chairman John Kerry (D-Massachusetts) and President Obama’s State Department blocked Senator DeMint’s planned fact-finding trip to Honduras at the last minute.

“These bullying tactics by the Obama administration and Senator Kerry must stop, and we must be allowed to get to the truth in Honduras. Not a single U.S. Senator has traveled to Honduras to learn the facts on the ground. And the Obama administration won't allow Honduran officials or even businessmen to come to the U.S., either. While this administration has failed to act decisively in Afghanistan, it is has no problem cracking down on a democratic ally and one of the poorest nations in Latin America."

“Meanwhile, a thorough report from the Congressional Research Service directly contradicts President Obama’s snap decision about the legality of then-President Zelaya’s removal from office in June. Now, President Obama and Democrats' blind support for this would-be dictator and friend of Hugo Chavez will prevent members of Congress from learning the truth first hand.”

U.S. Republican Congressmen Go To Honduras After Sen. Kerry Tries To Shut Down The Trip

Friday, October 02, 2009
Two IL Congressmen leave for Honduras fact-finding trip
Despite attempts by Senator John Kerry to shut down DeMint's fact-finding trip, IL Congressmen Peter Roskam and Aaron Schock are headed to Central America today to gather info for Congress about Honduras upcoming election preparations. From Roskam's office:

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina), a member of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Chairman of the Senate Steering Committee, announced that he will lead a delegation of U.S. Congressmen to Honduras today. The group will include U.S. Representatives Peter Roskam (R-Illinois), Aaron Schock (R-Illinois), and Doug Lamborn (R-Colorado). They plan to meet with Honduran President Roberto Micheletti, members of the Honduran Supreme Court, election officials, and Honduran business and civic leaders.

“I look forward to meeting with Honduran government officials about their continued efforts to ensure a free, fair, and uncompromised election this November,” said Congressman Peter Roskam. “These values are sacred to any functioning democracy, and are especially important in Honduras where they are geographically susceptible to the aggressive dictatorial regime of Hugo Chavez.”

Yesterday, Senate Foreign Relations Chairman John Kerry (D-Massachusetts) attempted to block the delegation’s trip at the last minute, denying committee approval. However, late Thursday, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) intervened and approved the trip to allow the Senator and Congressmen to assess the facts on the ground in Honduras.(The Illinois Review)

With Whom Will The Shrinks Side...Elizabeth Smart... Or Her Rapist?

Elizabeth Smart says her captor was sane. So let's see if she gets justice. It is up to the shrinks. If the shrinks side with the rapist and say he can't stand trial then Elizabeth Smart is wronged again. This guy is faking insanity. He is evil. Evil is not the same as sick.
Never in nine months did Mitchell appear confused or out of control, Smart testified: "He was a very capable, intelligent human being." Elizabeth Smart

Elizabeth Smart says she was raped daily
By JENNIFER DOBNER (AP) – 37 minutes ago

SALT LAKE CITY — Taking the stand for the first time since she was snatched from her girlhood bedroom seven years ago, Elizabeth Smart testified Thursday that her captor raped her three or four times a day, kept her tied up with a cable around her leg, and threatened to kill her if she tried to escape....

Smart, now a 21-year-old college student, gave her horrifying account in federal court as part of a proceeding over whether Mitchell is mentally competent to stand trial....

The 55-year-old, one-time street preacher has been behind bars since 2003 — mostly in a state mental hospital — but has yet to stand trial. Twice he has been ruled mentally incompetent in state court, and he has often demonstrated bizarre behavior, including incessantly singing hymns in the courtroom and once yelling at a judge to repent.A federal judge ruled earlier this week that Smart's testimony is relevant to the question of Mitchell's competency. Mitchell's competency hearing is not set to begin until Nov. 30, but Smart testified early because she is going on a religious mission for the Mormon church in Paris....

Smart said Mitchell would rape her three to four times a day....

Mitchell's lawyers maintain he is incompetent and suggested that evidence of his delusions can be found in his religious rambling and writings, including a 27-page manifesto he called "The Book of Emmanuel David Isaiah."

Smart said she believed Mitchell always knew that he could be punished for her kidnapping and understood how the court system worked....

She said he gave her an alias — Augustine Marshall — and told her what to say to police if they were ever questioned. He also bragged about skirting previous accusations of sexual abuse and fooling others, Smart said.

Never in nine months did Mitchell appear confused or out of control, Smart testified: "He was a very capable, intelligent human being."
