OPEN YOUR CLOSED DOORS CPS...LET THE REST OF US SEE WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT

I feel so comforted to know that Washington's CPS is "reviewing the case of the starved 14-year-old in Carnation." (Seattle Times, 10.15.80)

This is just another outrage.
Let the people do the reviewing
CPS has no accountability in the system. The public has no faith in them. Open Your Closed Doors CPS.... Let The Rest Of Us See What You Are All About!

This is the only system of government...Anywhere...where people can die and there is no open investigation of the system that allowed it. When top cop of Tacoma, David Brame, murdered, we all saw the investigation. There was a free press that went after this. There were elected officials that hustled around to answer the demands of the public.

But, when children die (eight in Pierce and Kitsap Counties since January), CPS repeatedly hides their operations from the public. From a legislators perspective I see no attempts to hold the system accountable to the children or to the public.

Here is what highly paid, former P.I. Editor and now CPS spokesperson Thomas Shapley, says of the incarceration and starving of the 14 year old. "We're going to thoroughly reviews the case and see if there were things that were not disclosed at that point (three years ago)."

If there was an eleven-year-old who weighed 60 pounds and told her teacher that she was being starved....WHAT COULDN'T YOU SEE? What the hell do your eyes tell you? If you didn't believe she was being starved then you should have investigated for anorexia! Normal growth and development....that is not on your check list? Why would an emaciated child lie to you?

LET THE PUBLIC IN....WE WANT TO SEE WHAT IS GOING ON. WE WANT TO KNOW WHY CPS MANAGEMENT IS SO DANGEROUSLY INCOMPETENT

Don't get the job done...I guess. Just hire the most experienced (he is highly skilled) spin doctor in the state. Thomas, maybe you can tip some of your old buddies in the press to what is going on here. Surely you have some of the social conscience about you. You were a good, caring-heart committed liberal at Seattle's most liberal paper. And now you are paid to cover it up.

Please explain on your blog the federal law. That can be manipulated,so people get paid to adot these children. I'ts my understanding every state has a different way of dividing the monies. I may be wrong but in the state of Washington, the casa and social workers can recieve monies for each adoption. If so isn't that illegal. Sounds like it would be very profieable for people to just keep taking these children.Keep up the good work.e

This line comes from a child in the care industry.

CARE IS THE ONE PLACE, WHERE YOU CAN LEGALLY ABUSE A CHILD AND GET PAID FOR IT.!!!

Once the state has taken possession of its child, and the money is rolling in and the parents kept well away, then the child is just another forgotten number to the faceless system.

Children are a commodity which makes trillions of dollars world wide in the so called child protection industry.

In UK one adoption can create £500,000 and those adult professionals all get money from the pot of gold.

It is in truth legalised child trafficing, and this may well be why the courts are closed.

It is not about keeping identiy of the child secret, because Child Protection advertise these same children like puppies on the internet.

The Government give large amounts of OUR MONEY to fund the industry, and that too is ridiculous.

We tax payers are funding an industry which destroys many children and their natural parents.

That money would be best spent on supporting the poorer families, instead of lining the pockets of the already rich.

And where are the thousands of children who go missing from Corporate Care each year??

If State care is so much better? then where oh where ar the children gone?

In UK, 20,000 children each year go missing from the care system, so where are they?

We do not read of this in the media, so why is the news being selective.?

People may just be waking up, as now the social workers are targeting the middle classes, because the demand is for little white middle class babies from good blood stock, not druggie babies- oh dear no.

Little Johnny and Mary must be clever, cute etc for the needy adults who wish to show off how great they are in adopting or fostering children.

CPS returns children to parents who are criminals, parents who do not comply with court ordered services in three years, parents who who have open criminal cases and warrants, parents who have had children taken from them in other states for abuse and neglect, parents who did not comply with court ordered to complete a one year batterers/anger management classes for corporal injury to spouse, parents who's children were taken from them due to drug and alcohol abuse who are still drinking, the list goes on. Do not believe it? Ask the governor, she has heard about it. Ask the State Attorney General, he has heard of it too. Now add sexual abuse by parent during "supervised" visit, that CPS is covering up. Still don't believe it? Add to this, a preschool age developmentally disabled child who has lived and thrived for the past three years in relative care who was just returned to THESE PARENTS! (Oh, by the way, CPS claims this is in the "Best Interest Of The Child". Believe it or not, it just happened to me. None of our family has been allowed to talk to , visit, or hear anything about this precious, special child for months, and according to CPS, will never see again, again, "In the Best Interest of the Child."
