Grandma Bari's Walk To Olympia...Report From Bari

....the weather today for the first day of walking was awful.... I already went through 4 pairs of socks and I can't tell you how many tears. They cancelled our visit and sent Madison (Lilly) to Mexico without even telling us.... I will be walking through Everett and down Aurora Avenue tomorrow... What I would really love is a big final leg on Monday to the capitol building. I have to be there for a meeting in the late afternoon and I need to get myself clean, dry and together before that meeting. I have timed myself and I walk about 4 miles per hour. So I will see how far I go tomorrow and then I will plan on a time that I will get about 4 miles from the capital building.... then maybe I can get a large number of people to go the last 4 miles with me. I know this pouring rain will discourage people but DSHS needs to know we will never give up.... Bari

If I was still in Washington I would walk with ya!!!! God Bless you as we went though this as you are and lost like so many others. The placed one of my kids in a home where he was molested, so yes I would have walked with you!

If you would let everybody know where to meet we can try. I just want to make it clear that the first person's to bond with any baby are the parent's who give birth. To think that bonding does not take place while a baby is in the womb is absurd and ignorant! To believe that relatives should also have no feelings is also ignorant and absurd! I really don't care if a foster/adopt couple raises a child; if the baby's parent's, grandparent's, aunts or uncles were NEVER ALLOWED to and they were quite capable of doing so; then the fact as to who simply was able to manipulate the system means nothing.

Every American citizen who gave birth to their child, raised their child; should walk with this grandmother. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER should the CPS system have been allowed to pick and choose whose baby they should give away and who gets to raise their baby when they give birth. THIS SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN UP FOR DISCUSSION!

If foster/adopt couples are unable to care about feelings of adults such as biological parent's, grandparent's; then I'm sorry you are NOT caring, loving, nurturing adults because you unable to show it. If you are unable to understand feelings that biological parent's. grandparent's or other relatives have; then how am I supposed to know what kind of person you are?

Good people need to stand together and tell the state, "We are not going to take this anymore".

I feel really bad that I can't make it! I have a 14 year old sick dog. So sorry Bari! I really wanted to be there. Any way we could all meet up and discuss another plan of action after this?
