A parent being deployed can hardly be compared to a parent who`s a crackhead. A parent who loves their child wouldn`t wait 4 years to try to get the child back. And, certainly wouldn`t abuse them during visits. Yes, remember there were experts who said the marks on Poca were consistent with abuse. She came back from visits with parents that you are claiming love her so much with suspicious marks on her. The truth was told in the news. I followed the whole story.
Hello, hello...reader stay on point. Who brought up crackheads? This blog is about shining the light of day on government wrongdoings. And, for the record...I have never taken a position on Poca. I report by forwarding KING 5 because I respect the work of Susannah Frame. She is a woman of courage. How many other reporters are taking on CPS? And, are there any other readers that slip off the log?
Apparently I wasn't paying close attention. Here is the reader's response: "The comment highlighted on this was written in response to another comment made by someone else, not you Senator Roach. Somebody else made a comment comparing a parent being deployed to Poca`s parents getting her back and how much they loved her. It was only in response to that comment and not what you blogged about."

I guess the emotions really come out when a person has been hurt by the system which is understandable. But there are some losing sight of what the most important factor is in this. It`s all the kids and families being hurt. That does include parents in some cases. I am a relative being hurt by the system. There are foster parents being hurt and knowing how the system is not working on behalf of children and families, I`m sure there are parents having children removed for no good reason. All need to ban together to fight the fight and I don`t mean against each other.
I just do not get it! How could anyone expect a parent to just walk away from their child just because the state took to long. Wonder if the poster read the Dr. deHaan report specifically the parts that were noted a contributing factors to the long stay. It is not the fault of the parent. Noted they were in compliance with services.
Dr. deHaan's wife works for DSHS. What a conflict of interest.
His report was an absolute joke.
The Governor should of hired someone that had no ties to DSHS.
I had my three children taken by cps. My baby was returned within three days, my toddler was returned in 16 months, and my 13 year old is still in state confinement four years later. I was told a few months back she would be returned to me, hopefully she will be returned to her family (me) before her 18th birthday. There is no reason why they can not just return her after all cps did not transition her out of my home. There are many of people that would like to adopt my daughter but she just wants to come home. Did I mention she is my only blond hair blue eyed child.
